1 - Description of the development kit

.

FIPKIT offers a set of products to develop a FIP application, to maintain or upgrade an existing FIP application. The kit uses the USB4 (Thunderbolt) bus, ideal for its low latency.

The kit contains:

- 2 MobiFIP cards (USB4), with the PowerFIP communication controller allowing FIP WorldFIP functionalities such as bus arbiter, passive station, messaging functions... The Igloo2 component serves as a communication bridge between the Thunderbolt bus and the co- processor. The kit is equipped with either bi-medium MobiFIP or mono-medium MobiFIP, depending on the customer's requirements.

- 1 FIPWatcher USB4 (Thunderbolt), FIPWatcher is an analyzer protocol

- 3 wires USB4

- 1 cable FIP comprenant 4 D-SUB9, 1.5 meters of cable between each point, there is a D-Sub9 provided for connecting to an existing network (be sure to respect the end-of-line impedances when connecting to an existing installation, as well as FIP chaining)

All the products in this kit are of the latest generation, obsolete products are replaced by compatible ones. They include the PowerFIP processor, the recent driver FIPDrive or (former Fieldrive), the line transformer FIPTrans or (former FieldTr)

2 - Partie logicielle

Le kit is provided with PowerFIP API , FIPWatcher spybus + FIPCapture DLL

The MobiFIP USB4 (Thunderbolt) drivers and software are the same as the equipment using Exoligent FIP cards: ( PXIe, PCIe, PCIe low profile, mPCIe, XMC, PCI ). A development made with MobiFIP USB4 (Thunderbolt) will also work with a PXIE, PCIe card...

Warning: MobiFIP USB4 (Thunderbolt) drivers are different from MobiFIP USB3.

Works on Win 7, 10, 11 and Linux.
