1 - Material part

FIPWATCHER consists for the material part of an aluminum housing. On one side is a Sub-9 connector for connecting the FIP WorldFIP network, and on the other side a connector for the Thunderbolt 4/3 bus. There are 3 standardized versions of the FIP WorldFIP bus (31.25 Kbits/s, 1Mbits/s or 2.5 Mbits/s). It makes it possible to acquire and view all the frames circulating on the FIP / WorldFIP networks.

The Thunderbolt bus offers the precision of the PCIe bus and the maneuverability of the USB bus.

2 - Software part
.

The Fipwatcher software section is integrated in FIPLabs FIPWatcher tab. Very easy to use, without programming, FIPWatcher displays FIP / WorldFIP frames.

The software part: display of raw frames, analyzes and statistics of the data are now integrated into the FIPLabs software, in order to analyze more precisely and cross-check the data on the FIP/WorldFIP network.

The frames are captured and their contents displayed, even in the case of erroneous frames which are usually rejected by the processors used on the FIP / WorldFIP equipment.

3 - Additional functions

3-1 Mnemonics: Essential for viewing data from a temperature sensor or a pressure sensor, for example. FIPLabs interprets raw data (made up of bytes) to translate it into data understandable by an operator, temperature or pressure for example.

3-2 Graphs: For temporal and graphical analyzes of mnemonic data

3-3 FIPCapture : FIPWatcher Thunderbolt comes with the FIPCapture Dll. This Dll, API written in C/C++, has a set of functions and allows to integrate a bus spy in client applications. Functions: general FIP network information, filtering of FIP frames, statistics, bus arbiter status, status of passive stations, macrocycle detection, remote server, etc.
